Released just two weeks after his 18th birthday, Quail Unlimited's debut album, "Lumber" can be seen as a soundtrack to the trials and joys of high school. Coming from the unlikely location of rural Kansas, QU's music mixes experimental electronic music such as drone and ambient with the majestic organs of church hymns. With its contrast of beautiful harmonies and lumbering drum beats, Lumber reflects the beauty, the mundane and the ugliness of Middle America in a unique way.
